Praying Together

Renewing our consecration to Mary

Mary was the first person to consecrate herself to Jesus Christ, the first to offer her whole heart to do his will, to serve his beautiful plan of redemption.

On Friday, May 1, Archbishop José H. Gomez of Los Angeles and president of the USCCB, led the Renewal of the Consecration of the United States of America to the Blessed Virgin Mary. The U.S. bishops joined the Canadian Conference of Catholic Bishops in renewing the consecrations of the two nations to the care of our Blessed Mother.

This moment of unified prayer gave our Church the occasion to pray for Our Lady’s continued protection of the vulnerable, healing of the sick, and wisdom for those who work to cure COVID-19.
