Advanced Ministry Studies
Welcome to the Advanced Ministry Studies webpage!
The Office of Religious Education in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles offers an Advanced Ministry Studies to women and men that would like to prepare themselves with a formal formation with emphasis in catechetical, pastoral, and ecclesial applications. This program will provide participants with the opportunity to be formed to exercise different roles at the parish or archdiocesan level.
The program is offered in a hybrid format, a combination of online Zoom Sessions, Moodle online, and in person classes (about 3 per year)
CERTIFICATION OPTIONS:
Upon completion of classes and a process of discernment, ministers will be commissioned and certified with one of the following certifications in collaboration with the Catholic Conference of Bishops and the Archdiocese of Los Angeles:
- Advanced Ministry Studies certificate
- Archdiocesan Master Catechist
FEES
The Advanced Ministry Studies registration fee is $20.00 and $50.00 tuition fee per class.
Advanced Ministry Studies 2024-2025 Calendar
This course is offered to accepted students in the Advanced Ministry Studies program. And serves as formal ongoing formation to any person serving in any ministry in the Church. E.g.: Pastors, Deacons, Master Catechists, Parish Catechetical Leaders, any person that wants to grow in faith, etc. Ongoing Formation fee $25.00

After applying you will be contacted to schedule an interview with our admitting team. Our goal is to guide and help you with the registration process.
