As Respect Life Month comes to a close, the Office of Life, Justice & Peace for the Archdiocese of Los Angeles is thrilled to continue the momentum by announcing that OneLife LA will return to the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday, January 23, 2027. The annual program and Walk for Life, now in its 13th year, celebrates the beauty and dignity of every human life from conception to natural death by promoting a culture of life, uniting communities and inspiring positive action, where every human life is valued.
“OneLife is a vision for a new way of living, a culture of life, a society where every life is sacred, and every life is cared for,” said Archbishop José H. Gomez. “Let’s keep going, always forward, as the saints say. We cannot rest until every human life is cherished — protected by our laws and treated with compassion and cared for in our society.”
The Office of Life, Justice & Peace is honored to announce that Father Francis J. “Father Rocky” Hoffman, Relevant Radio chairman and CEO and new president and rector of the National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion will serve as a speaker for OneLife LA 2027 joined by other life-affirming speakers and musical performances.
“When we stand up for the unborn, we make Jesus happy because He said, ‘whatever you do for the least of my brethren you do unto me,’” said Fr. Hoffman. “Relevant Radio, the Family Rosary Across America, and The National Shrine of Our Lady of Champion are honored to participate in OneLife LA this year.”
The celebration on the afternoon of January 23 will be guided by emcee Fr. Matt Wheeler, who serves as pastor at Our Savior Parish & USC Caruso Catholic Center and enjoys connecting with young people, especially on social media (@frmattwheeler). Francis Cabildo, a singer-songwriter, worship leader and speaker from Southern California, will kick off the event with a musical performance. He has served as a missionary with NET Ministries, Life Teen, Inc. and has led music for various conferences, camps and retreats. Francis has a B.A. in theology from Catholic International University and is raising five amazing sons with his wife Nicole.
OneLife LA is also teaming up with dozens of community partners to put its mission into action by encouraging attendees to get involved in community activities and sign up for service projects such as feeding the homeless, finding families for foster children, supporting pregnant women, and visiting the elderly. This commitment to service ensures that participants view this event not only as a destination, but as a call to build up their communities.
The celebration will culminate with the annual “Requiem for the Unborn” Mass also celebrated at the Cathedral by Archbishop Gomez where candles will be lit in remembrance of the babies lost to abortion daily in Southern California.
