Archdiocese of LA and Salesians of Don Bosco announce new partnership to build on St. John Bosco High School’s Legacy of Excellence
The Archdiocese of Los Angeles and the Salesians of Don Bosco (Salesian Society) today announced a new management partnership that will strengthen the future of St. John Bosco High School in Bellflower while preserving its distinctive Salesian mission and identity. Through the partnership, students and families will benefit from expanded access to Archdiocesan resources, including increased financial aid opportunities. The collaboration also creates new opportunities for philanthropic investment to support campus improvements, scholarships, academic innovation, enrichment programs, and faith formation initiatives at the all-boys college preparatory school founded in 1940 serving grades 9-12.
Beginning July 1, the Department of Catholic Schools of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles implemented an innovative collaborative management model designed to enhance educational opportunities for students, strengthen operational effectiveness, and expand the Salesians’ capacity to focus on spiritual formation and the school’s Catholic mission. A 12-month transition plan is now underway and will be fully implemented by June 30, 2027.

Together, we are ensuring that future generations of young men continue to receive an education rooted in faith, reason, and loving kindness.”
St. John Bosco High School continues to thrive with strong enrollment, outstanding academic achievement, vibrant faith formation, nationally recognized athletic programs, extensive extracurricular opportunities, and a deeply engaged alumni community.

This new partnership will not alter the school’s identity or its commitment to the educational vision of St. John Bosco. The Salesian community will continue its essential role in fostering lifelong learning, faith, service, leadership, and the spiritual development of students and alumni and represents a significant investment in the future of Catholic education and reflects the shared commitment of the Archdiocese and the Salesian Society to helping every student realize his God-given potential while advancing the enduring mission of St. John Bosco High School.
