L.A. Archdiocese Religious Education Congress Announces Move to Long Beach in 2028

The Archdiocesan Office of Religious Education announced today the homecoming of the Religious Education Congress (RECongress) back to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles by relocating the annual event to the City of Long Beach in 2028. Building upon its 70-year legacy, RECongress will continue to inspire, transform and spread the joy of the Gospel from the Long Beach Convention & Entertainment Center offering a beautiful waterfront setting, walkability, and a joyful and diverse atmosphere.

“For 70 years, RECongress has drawn Catholics from around the globe seeking prayer, learning and spiritual renewal. We are delighted to open our next chapter by bringing our beloved gathering home to the Archdiocese of Los Angeles in Long Beach in 2028,” said Sr. Rosalia Meza, VDMF, Senior Director of the Office of Religious Education for the Archdiocese. “The heart of RECongress is the people who fill the space and we look forward to bringing that same spirit of encounter and community to Long Beach!”

RECongress is a dynamic four-day gathering of the global church for both youth and adults, welcoming all to meet Jesus through connection, learning, and worship offering offer more than 140 workshops, special events, and exhibits in English, Spanish, and Vietnamese. Over the decades, RECongress has evolved into a globally recognized event which has drawn attendees from every U.S. state and dozens of countries to Anaheim where it had taken place for the past 57 years. The 2027 event will be the final RECongress held in Anaheim.

Meet Long Beach, markets the city as a destination for conventions, meetings and events, worked closely with RECongress organizers to showcase the city and its capabilities, tailoring site visits and experiences that highlighted both the venue and the city.
