Students in Los Feliz launch holiday food, toy drives

While most people were planning Thanksgiving gatherings, students at Immaculate Heart Middle & High School were in the midst of two food drives that launched a series of holiday charitable projects.

At the high school, student government members led the drive.

“There is so much food insecurity,” said senior Zion Ferguson, 17, of Mid City, the student body vice president. She said buying a few extra nonperishable items can make a meaningful difference.

“For us, it might not be the biggest deal,” she said. “But it makes an impact on people.”
