Fr. Allan Carodan

“If you’re doing something with you God, and if this is the work of God and for God. You will succeed.”

-Fr. Allan Carodan

Age: 49
Hometown: Manila, Philippines
Home parish: St. Madeleine Church, Pomona
First parish assignment: Beatitudes of Our Lord Catholic Church, (La Mirada)
First Mass: Sunday, June 1 at 11am – St. Madeleine Catholic Church (Pomona)

Fr. Allan felt called to the priesthood in high school and had been accepted into the Comboni Missionaries in the Philippines at 18 years old. After two years with the order, he had to leave to support his family and moved to Saudi Arabia where he could not openly practice his Catholic faith and even taught catechism classes secretly to children risking jail time or death. In 2014, he moved to the United States and more than 30 years after joining the Comboni Missionaries, he’ll be ordained a priest in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles.
