Fr. Joseph Cruz

“I think sometimes where I feel called is helping to be a bridge for people who maybe left the Church for one reason or another.”

– Fr. Joseph Cruz

Age: 56
Hometown: Diamond Bar, CA
Home parish: St. Bede the Venerable, La Canada
Favorite Hobby: Reading, Travel, Photography
First parish assignment: St. Mel Church, La Cañada Flintridge
First Mass: Saturday, May 31 at 5:30pm – St. Denis Catholic Church (Diamond Bar)

Fr. Joseph grew up with his sister and parents in Diamond Bar, Calif. — before moving to La Cañada Flintridge later in life – at the age of 56. After decades of working successfully in finance and management consulting, he had his sights set on retiring but rather than golfing, or sitting on a beach, or doing whatever retired people do, Cruz will instead spend his retirement as a priest. He hopes his career skills will help him with parish duties and the knowledge he obtained studying along men of different ages will help him serve his community.
