As Christians around the world continue to call on the healing of Pope Francis, Catholics in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles joined in prayer during a midday Mass on Monday, Feb. 24.
Francis, who was hospitalized and diagnosed with double pneumonia and the early stages of kidney insufficiency, was showing slight improvement Monday, Vatican officials said. He remains in critical condition.
Archbishop José H. Gomez presided over the Mass held at the Cathedral of Our Lady of the Angels.
