On November 6, Archbishop Jose Gomez of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles reminded Catholics that after the election, the Church’s mission remains the same: “We’re here to proclaim the Gospel, save souls, and build God’s kingdom.”
The Archbishop wrote in Angelus News that many people are bitter and angry after the election and that politics alone cannot solve man’s deepest problems.
“Underlying our political debates are issues that are spiritual, moral, and existential,” he continued.
He stated young people sense that something is wrong with the modern way of life, and they are ultimately looking for community, relationship, and moral direction.
