Tuesday of the Second Week of Advent

Lost and Found

(Memorial of St. Ambrose, Bishop and Doctor of the Church)

Right about now, you might be feeling a little lost in all the silence and waiting. In a world of constant motion, we are taking a decidedly counter-cultural approach to this season. Scripture reminds us today that we have nothing to fear because God will not abandon us. Like a shepherd who leaves the 99 sheep to find the one that is missing, so it is with God and His children. Even if we stray from our Advent practices, even if we wander in the silence, a little unsure of what we’re supposed to be doing, God is still there, waiting for us, welcoming us, loving us. Give yourself permission to begin again, every day, if necessary. It is all progress on the path.

Today’s Readings
