Choose your Moment

Day of Reflection at St. Andrew’s

Let us open the doors in all our churches, and let us invite our people back, to come and see how much Jesus loves them.

-Archbishop Gomez

The parish community at St. Andrew’s in Old Pasadena celebrated their parish feast day (November 30) by inviting the faithful to come home and experience the peace Jesus offers.

Their doors were open from morning till night with opportunities for the faithful to choose their moment with Jesus. The day included Mass, adoration, confession, opportunities to talk with priests, music, quiet reflection, morning and afternoon prayer, praise and worship, a Eucharistic procession and moments to build community.

“I’m a big believer that the church must be unlocked, must be open all day because you never know when someone is going to be touched by God,” said Father Marcos Gonzalez. “I’m hoping that once people are here, they’ll be inspired.”

Jesus used to say to his disciples, “Come and see!” Let’s make that same invitation to people: Come again, and see the miracle of the Mass! Come again, and see how much Jesus loves you! Jesus is here now, with us, as truly present as when he was walking with his apostles in Galilee.
