St. Robert Bellarmine School, a vibrant Catholic elementary and middle school in Burbank, CA, is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Part-Time Physical Education Teacher to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a passion for promoting physical fitness, teamwork, and healthy lifestyles among our students, while integrating the values of our Catholic faith into their teaching. This dual role will focus on the growth and development of our sports teams, enhancing the athletic experience for all students.

Physical Education Teacher Duties:
• Develop and implement engaging PE curriculum for grades TK-8
• Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and development.
• Promote physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship through various sports and activities.
• Assess and monitor student progress, providing feedback and support as needed.
• Collaborate with faculty to incorporate physical education into the broader school curriculum and mission.
• Organize and oversee school-wide physical activities and events.

Athletic Director Duties:
• Oversee all aspects of the school’s athletic programs, including planning, organizing, and implementing sports teams and activities.
• Develop strategies for the growth and sustainability of sports teams, encouraging student participation and engagement.
• Collaborate with coaches to establish training schedules, practice plans, and competition strategies.
• Coordinate communication with parents, students, and staff regarding sports events, schedules, and policies.
• Foster a culture of sportsmanship and respect among students, coaches, and parents.

Requirements

Qualifications:
• Minimum of an associate’s degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field preferred.
• Experience in teaching physical education.
• Previous experience in athletic administration or coaching is highly desirable.
• Strong understanding of child development and physical education best practices.
• Excellent organizational and communication skills.
• Ability to work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and parents.
• Passion for promoting a healthy lifestyle and physical fitness among students.
• Commitment to upholding the values of a Catholic education.

Schedule:
• Part-time position; Monday-Friday: 10:00am-3:00pm and Friday’s: 10:00am-11:30am.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
