Mission Statement
Philosophy
Established in 1963 under the guidance of the Sisters of the Holy Faith, St. Linus School strives to promote a community of faith, knowledge, and service. Our mission is one with that of the Catholic Church; to bring people to know God through Jesus and the Gospel message. We are committed to providing a foundation of the teachings of the Catholic Church, a rigorous academic education, and a sense of social responsibility and justice focused on service for others.
St. Linus School is committed to educating the whole child in partnership with parents who are the primary educators of their children. We recognize that “for people of faith, the wisdom and culture transmitted by the school are enriched and put into perspective by the Gospel message of Jesus” (Growing Together). Parental involvement and community support are necessary to the attainment of our mission. “Community is at the heart of Christian education not simply as a concept to be taught but as a reality to be lived” (To Teach As Jesus Did).
By emphasizing the Christian dignity and spiritual uniqueness of each child, we encourage students to respect others and embrace diversity. We strive to cultivate global awareness and responsibility to use their God-given talents in service to their family, school, and community. We aim to foster respect for God’s creation and care for the environment.
