On the theme:
The sand and fishing net theme of OREMUS connects us to the Pacific Ocean and our beautiful shoreline in Southern California as well as to Jesus’ invitation to his first disciples. At the Sea of Galilee, Jesus encountered Simon Peter and his brother Andrew and invited them to follow him: “Come after me, and I will make you fishers of men.” (Matthew 4:19). Just as them, we are invited by the virtue of our baptism to be his disciples, “Missionary Disciples” (Evangelii Gaudium 120), who follow him at once to learn from the master, to grow in faith and to share the joy of the gospel with many others.
