Lent: Day 7
Remember you are loved by a good and gracious Father. Recuerda que eres amado por un buen y amoroso Padre.
“To be a father is a beautiful and a noble vocation, a calling to serve and to love and to sacrifice,” Archbishop Gomez has said. “And in the love that a father has for his children, we see the love that God our Father has for us.”
We often focus on the second person of the Trinity, Jesus, during Lent. He is the protagonist of the Passion, it is His resurrection we await on Easter Sunday. But Lent is also a time to reflect on the goodness and graciousness of God the Father, to whom Jesus directs our hearts to in the Gospel.
“What father among you would hand his son a snake when he asks for a fish? Or hand him a scorpion when he asks for an egg? If you then, who are wicked, know how to give good gifts to your children, how much more will the Father in heaven give the holy Spirit to those who ask him?” (Lk 11:11-13)
Take some time today to reflect on your father and father figures in your life. How have they helped you to better know God’s love for you?

A menudo, durante la Cuaresma nos enfocamos en la segunda persona de la Trinidad, Jesús. Él es el protagonista de la Pasión, es Su resurrección la que esperamos el Domingo de Pascua (también Domingo de Resurrección). Pero la Cuaresma es también un tiempo para reflexionar en la bondad y en la gracia de Dios el Padre, hacia quien Jesús dirige nuestros corazones en el Evangelio.
“¿Qué padre hay entre vosotros que, si su hijo le pide un pez, en lugar de un pez le da una culebra; o, si pide un huevo, le da un escorpión? Si, pues, vosotros, siendo malos, sabéis dar cosas buenas a vuestros hijos, cuánto más el Padre del cielo dará el Espíritu Santo a los que se lo pidan?” (Lucas 11:11-13)
Tome un tiempo hoy para reflexionar en su padre y en las figuras paternas en su vida. ¿Cómo le han ayudado ellos a conocer mejor el amor de Dios por usted?
