Description

The Vice Principal of Academics & Faculty of serves a wide variety of functions for multiple people. The role is integral to the smooth and successful operation of the school. Given their role in communicating information, the candidate must be a socially skilled individual, capable of maintaining calm and reason, even in the tense of situations. They are heavily involved in the day-to-day operations as they relate to students, parents, and faculty. The workday fluctuates considerably and is based on the changing needs of the school community. The Vice Principal is responsible for:

• Mentoring faculty and providing guidance and/or direction,
• Managing the substitute teacher assignments,
• Onboarding and training new faculty,
• Creating the school schedule and class assignments,
• Acting as liaison between parents and teachers for addressing concerns
• Co-leading faculty and academic council meetings,
• Working collaboratively with the school administrative team

A successful Vice Principal will support the philosophy, principles, and characteristics of Marianist Education and assure quality services to students, faculty, staff, parents, outside organizations, and communities

Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution (Master’s degree is preferred).
• Previous teaching experience required.
• Previous administrative experience preferred.
• Demonstrated skill in respectful, sensitive communication with people who are diverse in their cultures, languages, and abilities.
• Demonstrated sensitivity to and ability to work with the diverse academic, socioeconomic, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds of student and members of Chaminade, including those with disabilities.
• Prefer previous experience with strategic planning, fiscal resource management, allocation to planning and priorities.
• Demonstrated commitment to academic quality and standards.
• Demonstrated support of the faculty and their continued professional development.
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively and collaboratively with the administrative team and faculty.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
