Summer School Teacher – Photography 1

BRIEF DESCRIPTION OF POSITION
The Photo I Summer is a full-year/two semester course running from June 10-July 22, 2024
Summer Session 1: June 10-28 (no class on June 19)
Summer Session 2: July 1-July 22 (no classes July 4 or 5)

The teaching position is an exempt position that reports to the Director of Summer School, and the administrative team of Principal and Vice Principal of Instruction.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS
• Demonstrate passion and expertise in the teaching of middle and high school students.
• Well-versed in the assigned curriculum or enrichment area.
• Proficient in the use of technology in the classroom and willing to incorporate it as a strategy to engage learners where appropriate.
• Willingness to differentiate learning to reach a range of student learning styles.
• When applicable, correspond with parents in a timely and professional manner.
• Commit to the teacher attendance policy.

Requirements

EDUCATION AND QUALIFICATIONS
• Minimum: two years of college completion, bachelor’s degree preferred.
• Educational level based on specific class requirements..
• Ability to relate to students and build positive relationships while maintaining healthy boundaries.
• Willingness to collaborate, problem-solve, and share best practices with colleagues.
• High-level of familiarity and competence across cultures and multiple perspectives.
• Familiarity and competence in technology skills, and desire to keep learning.
• Must have excellent classroom management, communication, and organization skills.
• Ability to develop and implement an effective and engaging curriculum.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
