St. John the Baptist Catholic School serves students in grades TK-8. St. John the Baptist School is rooted in the teachings of Jesus and our Catholic traditions. We challenge our students to pursuit excellence in all areas of endeavor to serve the global community.

We are seeking a principal who will: partner with parents, lead a dedicated faculty/staff, keep the children at the center of all decisions, and work collaboratively with the parish to serve the church ministries and Baldwin Park community. Requirements

The Catholic school principal must seek to fulfill priorities in the following areas of the National Standards and Benchmarks for Effective Catholic Elementary and Secondary Schools (NSBECS).

  • Prioritizes action items in order to achieve the organizational mission.
  • Leads the school community in delivering the highest quality curriculum.
  • Values, engages, and communicates appropriately and effectively.
  • Develops, implements, and oversees academic, co-curricular, faith-formation, and service/ministry programs to educate the whole child.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Practicing Catholic
  • Minimum 5 years of teaching experience OR 3 years working at a Non-Profit organization in a leadership role
  • Earned Master’s Degree OR State Approved Teaching Credential
  • Catechetical Certification to be completed by the first two years of leadership

SALARY/BENEFITS: Salary commensurate with education and experience. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles offers health benefits including medical, dental, and vision and all employees are enrolled in pension benefits from the time of employment and considered vested after five years of full-time employment.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
