Description
Holy Redeemer – St. James School [HRSJ] is seeking a hardworking, dedicated, positive, and skilled music teacher to join our school community and lead our music program for grades TK-8. Responsibilities include curriculum development, music instruction, develop and direct a school choir, organize special events such as the Christmas Pageant, develop music program, may lead music during liturgical celebrations, including some Masses and prayer services, integrate sacred music into the curriculum, create a positive and inclusive classroom environment where students feel loved and respected, and submit lesson plans and grades in a timely manner.
Position will teach music one day a week.
Requirements
Requirements:
- AA or Bachelor’s degree in Music or related field preferred
- Commitment to inspiring students
- Passion for teaching music
Preferences:
- Practicing Catholic
- Knowledge of liturgical music
- Experience leading music during Mass or prayer services
- Strong communication skills
- Teaching experience preferred
- CA Credential preferred

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
