Description
St. Pius X- St. Matthias Academic is seeking a part-time music instructor who can teach Instrumental Music/Band to grades 9-12, and direct PMA Drumline.
St. Pius X – St. Matthias Academy, located in Downey, California, offers a Catholic university experience for teenagers. We believe that a college education is a right rather than a privilege. Our mission is to provide all students opportunities to grow in faith, learn without limits, and live with a purpose.
Instructional staff members serve the school’s mission by facilitating daily meaningful learning experiences according to the school’s professional standards in planning, subject matter competency, curriculum & instruction, assessment, and professional development centered on the mission of the St. Pius X-St. Matthias Academy.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Music or related subject is required.
- Three years of teaching high school students in the subject area is preferred.
- Experience with a high school band and drumline.
- Preference is given to practicing Roman Catholics
