St Bede the Venerable School in La Canada-Flintridge is seeking a vibrant, experienced full-time 6th, 7th and 8th grade Middle School Science Teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. Under the direction of the school principal, our teachers provide a Catholic-based educational program for students in grades K to 8. Our teachers plan and implement lessons of core subjects along with providing faith-based education and programs approved by the Catholic Church. Catholic School staff and faculty are invested and driven to provide an excellent educational experience for children and their families.
St. Bede the Venerable School is seeking a dynamic and engaging middle school math teacher. Their role will be to teach 6th Grade math, 7th Grade pre-algebra, and 8th Grade algebra and prepare students for life beyond the classroom.

Essential Job Functions:
- Teach 6th Grade math, 7th Grade Pre-Algebra, and 8th Grade Algebra
- Utilize online and physical resources such as Savvas Realize and others to create a comprehensive math curriculum
- Commitment to the mission of St. Bede the Venerable School
- Ability to create an environment in the classroom and in all areas of co-curricular responsibility that nurtures the development of mind, body, and spirit.
- Demonstrate a strong commitment to equitable and inclusive classroom practices with differentiation for all students
- Design and implement regular formative and summative assessments to measure student learning.
- Efficiently and regularly grade and provide feedback in a timely manner to students and parents.
- Proficiency in curriculum planning, instruction, and assessment.
- Willingness to serve on a collaborative Middle School Team but also work independently in terms of your content area
- Demonstrate skill in fostering a learner-centered classroom environment and challenge students to apply knowledge to real-life problems.
- Be a reflective educator who models intellectual curiosity.
- Actively participate in the school’s culture, participate in school activities and functions outside of the classroom.
- Provide innovative and creative commitment to education
- Maintain course scope and sequence as well as create a comprehensive course curriculum map.
- Utilize Google Classroom to post daily assignments
- Attend weekly faculty meetings
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Teaching credential – Multiple Subjects or Single Subject Math preferred
- Bachelor’s degree
- Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 2 years teaching experience preferred.
- Knowledge of current educational trends.
- Excellent classroom management, communication and organizational skills.
- Ability to connect with students, parents, and colleagues in a professional manner.
- Experience with academic technology and/or an enthusiastic willingness to be trained to employ new tools.
Additional requirements: Virtus Certified; Live Scan through ADLA; TB Neg. Test Result; CPR Certification and Catechetical Certification (preferred)

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
