DESCRIPTION
Our outstanding Catholic K-8 elementary school seeks a teacher for the 2023-2024 school year who is committed to excellence to join our team of dedicated, enthusiastic, faith-filled educators. This full-time position is for a teacher in the elementary grades who can teach all core subjects and can provide a Catholic environment for our learners. We currently have an opening for a 4th grade teacher and a Jr. High ELA/6th grade homeroom teacher.

•has strong organizational and class management skills as well as the ability to communicate regularly and effectively with all stakeholders including parents, other colleagues, administration and students.
• The successful candidate must demonstrate up-to-date knowledge of content area and be able to engage students using a wide variety of teaching strategies, updating an online Gradebook weekly (or FACTS online grading system)
• is up to the task of educating the whole child.
• is highly skilled at planning, organizing, and developing curriculum to reach the needs of learners of various abilities (our school uses Planbook.com).
Preference is given to practicing Roman Catholic applicants.
Requirements
REQUIREMENTS
• Clear CA multiple subject credential and Master’s Degree in an education-related field preferred (English degree for the junior high position preferred)
• CPR and First-Aid Trained (renew certificates every 2 years)
• ADLA Fingerprinted and Virtus-trained (keep it current)
• Prior teaching experience in the primary grades preferred
• Commitment to Catholic Education and open to growing in faith through formation opportunities. Junior high attends Mass 5 days a week at 8am Mass
• Proficient with educational technology like Seesaw (grades K-2) and Google Classroom (grades 6-8)
• Effective classroom management skills
•Comfortable working in and supportive of faith-based education
• Provides individual and small group instruction in order to adapt the curriculum to the needs of each student
• Creates effective assessments that track and ensure student learning
• Creates and maintains a safe and orderly classroom environment in which students can learn and enjoy learning
• Identifies student needs, and cooperates with other professional staff members in assessing and helping students solve health, attitude and learning problems
• Regularly communicates and meets with parents and teachers on individual students’ progress
• Supervises students in out-of-classroom activities during the assigned working day
• Using a wide- array of formative and summative assessments
• Weekly Gradebook Update (Gradelink/FACTS)
• Preferred knowledge of Google Suite for grades 3-5 (Google Drive, Google Classroom, etc.) and Seesaw for grades K-2

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
