Jr. High (6th – 8th) Social Studies & Religion / 7th grade Homeroom (Full-Time)

Start Date: August 1, 2024 (for trainings and preparation)
School Year Starts: Wednesday, August 28, 2024

St. Philip Neri School is a TK – 8 Catholic elementary school located in Lynwood, CA. We are currently seeking a dynamic, compassionate and dedicated educator to teach for our Jr. High (6th – 8th) Social Studies & Religion. The applicant should be self-driven, able to collaborate with grade level team members, have strong classroom management skills, effective written and oral communication skills, and dedicated to partnering with parents. Curriculum will be provided along with summer training (August), but all teachers are responsible for preparing engaging lessons, monitoring student progress, providing individualized support by differentiating instruction, and integrating technology into the curriculum through the school’s one-to-one Chromebook & Google Workspace program. The ideal candidate must be a team player dedicated to their professional growth and values the philosophy and mission of Catholic education. They are also willing to take part in the community life of the school and parish.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
  • Valid teaching credential (single- or multiple-subject) and/or Master’s Degree in the field of education or subject related field is preferred, but not required. Candidates in the process and enrolled in a teacher preparation program are welcomed to apply.
  • At least 2 or more years of teaching preferred, but training and support will be provided for new teachers
  • Catechetical Certification (or in progress)
  • Willingness to grow professionally and attend trainings as needed

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
