Description

Saint Monica Preparatory, a parish, coeducational, TK-12 day school, and ministry of the St. Monica Catholic Community located in the heart of Santa Monica, welcomes applications for the 2024-2025 High School STEM Academy Teacher Pool of candidates for the subjects of Math, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Engineering & Computer Science.

The STEM Academy at SMPREP offers standards-based, Gold Standard PBL curricula. Prospective candidates are encouraged to submit resumes as soon as possible.

Salary commensurate with education and experience. The Archdiocese of Los Angeles offers health benefits, including medical, dental, and vision, and all employees are enrolled in pension benefits from the time of employment and considered vested after five years of full-time employment.

Requirements

  • Experience with and/or commitment to continual development and implementation of a standards-based PBL curriculum
  • Minimum three years of high school STEM teaching experience or eight years working in the field of industry, preferably with management experience
  • California Teaching Credential OR Master’s Degree in a related field
  • Cultivate an inclusive, collaborative, and challenging learning environment that reflects SM Prep’s core values and allows our diverse student body to grow and thrive
  • Create an environment in the classroom and in all areas of co-curricular responsibility that nurtures the development of the whole student

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
