Junipero Serra High School is a vibrant Catholic community dedicated to fostering academic excellence, athletic excellence, and personal growth among our student-athletes. We are seeking a passionate and experienced Head Soccer Coach to lead our high school soccer program. The ideal candidate will inspire student-athletes to excel in both their academic and athletic pursuits while upholding the values of sportsmanship and integrity.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive soccer program that emphasizes skill development, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning.
- Provide effective leadership to assistant coaches and support staff, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Plan and conduct engaging and competitive practices that maximize player development and team cohesion.
- Scout opponents and develop game strategies to optimize the team’s performance during competitions.
- Mentor student-athletes on and off the field, promoting academic success, character development, and responsible behavior.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, school administration, and the broader community to ensure transparency and support for the soccer program.
- Must be able to fundraise.
Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or equivalent, with a proven track record of success.
- Deep knowledge of soccer fundamentals, strategies, and coaching techniques.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Commitment to fostering a positive and inclusive team culture that values diversity and respect.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school administration, faculty, and parents to support the holistic development of student-athletes.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
