Description
Santa Clara Preparatory High School is seeking a head girls Varsity Coach who will teach and mold these young women into student-athletes. You must possess excellent communication and leadership skills. The position requires the development of the necessary physical and sport-specific skills is a must.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement a comprehensive basketball program that emphasizes skill development, tactical understanding, and physical conditioning.
- Provide effective leadership to assistant coaches and support staff, fostering a collaborative and positive team environment.
- Plan and conduct engaging and competitive practices that maximize player development and team cohesion.
- Scout opponents and develop game strategies to optimize the team’s performance during competitions.
- Mentor student-athletes on and off the court, promoting academic success, character development, and responsible behavior.
- Communicate regularly with players, parents, school administration, and the broader community to ensure transparency and support for the basketball program.
- Must be able to fundraise and oversee athletic budget
- Advocates for SCHS and participates in various school events to promote faith, family and tradition.

Requirements
Qualifications:
- Previous coaching experience at the high school level or equivalent, with a proven track record of success.
- Deep knowledge of basketball fundamentals, strategies, and coaching techniques.
- Strong leadership and communication skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire student-athletes.
- Commitment to fostering a positive, inclusive team culture that values diversity and respect.
- Ability to work collaboratively with school administration, faculty, and parents to support the holistic development of student-athletes.
- Valid First Aid/CPR Certification

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
