Description

Saint Turibius STEM Network School has served the community for over 75 years as a mission of St. Joseph’s Parish. We are a TK-8 Catholic STEM school whose mission is committed to the formation and education of children in spirit, mind, and body. In partnership with parents, community, and the Church, St. Turibius integrates Christian values and daily, lived experiences with a STEM-focused curriculum and student learning expectations: being a servant leader, innovative thinker, and global citizen. The school helps its students develop into active members of their faith and into academically proficient, responsible and action-oriented adults impacting their greater communities.

The school community is looking to add an excited, innovative, and creative leader to our highly collaborative staff. Our learning community, staff and administrator must be adept in the use of technology, find value in STEM education; hands-on, Project-Based Learning and see themselves as individuals with “skills to succeed and integrity to transform” their school community and beyond.

We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Principal to lead our TK-8 elementary school in Downtown Los Angeles. Building strong relationships within the Downtown Los Angeles community, including civic, government, and business leaders, will be essential in garnering support for our school. The ideal candidate will excel in crisis response management and lead initiatives to boost reading and math proficiency. The principal will establish a comprehensive STEP program for students with disabilities including integrating support services such as counselors, social workers, and family advocates to support families and student socioemotional and academic growth. While bilingual proficiency in Spanish is not required, it would be an advantage, enabling effective communication with our diverse immigrant and ESL population. Prioritizing parent involvement, the principal will establish a PTO and consultative school board, while also focusing on enrollment growth through maintaining security measures, strategic marketing, and stakeholder communication. Above all, the successful candidate will demonstrate genuine care for students and families through building a nurturing, inclusive, supportive learning environment.

This position will work directly with the STEM Director, Department of Catholic Schools, and Pastor.
