Position Summary

St. Mark Catholic Church is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Director of Youth Formation to lead and enhance our youth ministry programs. This full-time position is designed for a passionate leader committed to nurturing the spiritual and personal growth of the youth in our parish community (church & school). The Director of Youth Formation will develop and implement comprehensive religious education programs, foster a vibrant community spirit, and guide young people in deepening their faith and understanding in order to lead a truly integrated Catholic life.

Key Responsibilities

Program Development and Execution:

  • Develop, plan, and implement innovative and effective catechetical and formational programs for youth that reflect the richness of Catholic teaching.
  • Coordinate programs for Confirmation in accordance with the new diocesan vision under supervision of Pastor.

Leadership and Supervision:

  • Recruit, train, and manage volunteers and part-time staff involved in youth ministry.
  • Serve as a role model of Catholic faith and morals to all participants in the youth formation programs.

Community and Relationship Building:

  • Enhance relationships with parents, families, and the broader parish community to support youth participation and engagement.
  • Collaborate with parish staff and other community leaders to promote intergenerational activities and parish-wide events.

Administration:

  • Manage the budget for youth programs and ensure effective use of resources.
  • Maintain compliance with all archdiocesan guidelines and safety protocols for working with minors.

Requirements

Qualifications

Education and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Theology, Religious Education, or a related field is preferred.
  • Significant experience (3-5 years) in youth ministry or education, ideally within a Catholic context.
  • Proven ability to develop and lead religious education programs and spiritual formation activities.

Skills and Characteristics:

  • A committed missionary Christian disciple who embodies and promotes Catholic values.
  • Rich in catechetical methodology.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; ideal candidate should be bilingual (English-Spanish) to cater to our diverse community.

Salary and Position details
This is a full-time exempt role, starting in August 2024.
Salary range $67,500 – 75,000 /year.
Since this is a grant position, the role is offered for the extent of one year, extendable beyond as mutually agreed.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
