Notre Dame Academy High School in West Los Angeles is seeking a highly qualified full-time science teacher for the 2024-2025 school year. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success teaching high school biology and other science courses. Join a student-centered community with a strong commitment to our outstanding STEM program which has earned multiple AP Computer Science Female Diversity Awards, placed in the top ten in the National Rocketry Challenge last year, and has been invited to participate in the NASA Student Launch this year.

We seek an innovative, collaborative, and experienced science teacher who can fulfill the 21st century learning environment goals of Notre Dame Academy by emphasizing hands-on learning via thoughtful laboratory experiments and meaningful real-world connections. The ideal candidate has a bachelor’s or master’s degree in biology or a related field and successful high school teaching experience. This individual must be innovative, dynamic, energetic, organized, flexible, and hard working, and he or she must embody a growth mindset. We seek faculty members who are intellectually curious, willing to grow professionally, student focused, dedicated to lifelong learning, and able to effectively collaborate with faculty, students, and parents to enhance our learning community.

Requirements

• Successful high school biology teaching experience
• AP Biology teaching experience preferred
• AP Environmental Science teaching experience a plus
• Bachelor’s degree in biology or related field, Master’s desired
• Comfortable teaching in a Catholic education setting
• Commitment to an inclusive and equitable working and learning environment
• California teaching credential preferred

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
