St. Monica Catholic High School, a parish, coeducational, college preparatory high school in Santa Monica, California, is seeking a full-time Biology teacher for the 2020 – 2021 school year. The science introduction at SMCHS is framed around the NGSS. Responsibilities include teaching 5 sections, serving as a grade-level advisor, and participating in co-curricular activities. Opportunities to integrate interdisciplinary projects and research are woven throughout the curriculum.

Show a willingness to engage students in meaningful labs and to foster a project-based learning environment.
Work collaboratively with colleagues to develop an integrated and meaningful curriculum and student learning experiences.
Serve as a grade-level advisor who is committed to the social and emotional development of students.
Competitive compensation and benefits
A bachelor’s degree in Biology is necessary; a master’s degree is preferred. Candidates should have at least three years of experience teaching in a student-centered classroom, integrating technology in the student learning experience that enhances student experiences and growth. Prior experience developing and facilitating online learning lessons is a plus.
