Description
St. Maria Goretti Catholic School seeks an enthusiastic 1st-grade teacher for the 2024-2025 school year.
The candidate should have an enthusiastic approach to teaching first grade and a positive and collaborative mindset. The candidate should be able to implement engaging lesson plans, be creative and actively monitor and assess student learning. In addition, the use of planbook, gradelink and other applications will be required to stay up-to-date with weekly lessons, grading and student progress.
The 1st-Grade Teacher respects Catholic values and aids students in Christian formation by exemplifying Catholic living, both in and out of the classroom. Teachers are to implement the school mission and philosophy, follow the policies of the Archdiocese of Los Angeles, and adhere to the staff and parent handbooks of St. Maria Goretti School and the directives set by the school administration.
Requirements
Bachelor’s degree or higher
CA Teaching Credential or MA degree preferred
(or currently enrolled in a program)
Ability to teach using technology
Professional growth and ongoing faith formation is required
Knowledgeable in the areas of Renaissance STAR Assessments, Accelerated Reader, Gradelink, Planbook.com, and Google Suites is helpful.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
