Position: Volleyball Coach
Reports to: Athletic Director
Salary: $3,000 – $5,000 stipend

St. Mary’s Academy (SMA) is a Catholic High School for young women, founded and sponsored by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Carondelet. Together with the students’ families, the administration, faculty and staff are committed to forming a Christian community that nurtures and challenges each young woman to attain her full potential. Job Summary
As a member of St. Mary’s Academy coaching staff, you will demonstrate a commitment to SMA mission and vision expressed through the CSJ charism of service to the dear neighbor. The role of a high school volleyball coach goes beyond teaching the skills of the game. It includes responsibilities related to athlete development, team leadership, and fostering a positive sports environment and can teach and model all the aspects of the CSJ charisms. Ideally it will be someone who can coach our young women in a highly competitive sport yet help them keep a balance in all aspects of their lives, spiritually, socially, mentally and physically while promoting positive teamwork, positive interactions amongst teammates and modeling sportsmanship.
Responsibilities:
● Plan and conduct practices focused on skill development, strategy, and conditioning.
● Develop game plans and lead the team during matches and tournaments.
● Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, and a growth mindset.
● Ensure compliance with school and athletic safety policies.
● Mentor student-athletes both on and off the court.
Qualifications:
● Previous volleyball coaching or playing experience (high school or higher level preferred).
● Strong knowledge of volleyball rules, techniques, and strategies.
● Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
● Passion for working with high school students and helping them grow as athletes and individuals.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
