St. Thomas the Apostle School is a Pre-K through 8th grade school located in Los Angeles. We are seeking a pool of qualified and dedicated substitute teachers who can be available as needed. Duties and responsibilities will vary based on need.
The ideal candidate would be: a practicing Catholic, in good standing with the Catholic Church; possesses great classroom management skills; can quickly problem-solve; is flexible; has a professional attitude and strong work ethic. Most of all, we are looking for a candidate who is kind, compassionate and empathetic when working with children.
Minimum requirements (must have):
Fingerprinted through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles;
Completion of Virtus training
TB (Neg.) Test Result;
Candidates with experience teaching/substitute teaching in TK-8 Catholic schools;
Master’s Degree and/or Teaching credentials;
Ability to utilize technology in a teaching environment;
CPR/1st Aid Certification
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
