The school bookkeeper is responsible for invoicing and tracking payments of school families regarding tuition, fees, use of extended care and other miscellaneous charges using QuickBooks accounting software, Microsoft Excel, and some Access. In addition, the person will maintain the Accounts Payable for school, receive all payments due the school, record them and make bank deposits. They will also prepare payroll information and submit it to ADP for processing, and assist the principal in various HR activities, including the preparation of contracts, employee files, assist employees with insurance enrollment and other changes, and maintaining VPIN files (Virtus and Fingerprinting). As we are a private, Catholic school that depends on our families for support in addition to required tuition and fees, the bookkeeper will also track required Volunteer Hours and participation in Profit Dollars (fundraising). The bookkeeper is also responsible to assist the principal with preparing the school budget, reports to the Parish Finance Council, and other school reports as requested. The school bookkeeper may also be asked to occasionally assist the office manager with front office responsibilities.

Previous business or accounting experience preferred.
Proficient use in accounting software, including QuickBooks and Excel.
Proficient understanding of basic labor practices.
Must have confidentiality, strong organizational skills, flexibility and the ability to take initiative regarding job responsibilities.
