St. Joseph the Worker is a Catholic parish school in the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. As a parish school, we serve the community by providing a caring, educational environment in which each child develops spiritually, academically, socially, and physically. Together with the family, the faculty and staff provide the students with a foundation for success in high school and for development into responsible adolescents and adults. The person in this position will work directly with the Pastor.
An optimal candidate for the position of Principal should be:

B. Faith leader: Promotes spiritual growth among the faculty, students and
community through catechetical formation.
C. Mission focused: Makes data informed decisions based on the mission of our school.
D. Hopeful and Entrepreneurial: Seeks opportunities to innovate, articulate and implement a vision for growth.
E. Fiscally Responsible: Demonstrates solid stewardship for short-term financial management and long-term financial planning.
F. Growth Mindset Leader: Assesses and makes adjustments to create a collaborative culture of excellence by prioritizing action items to achieve the mission.
G. Inspirational: Recruits and motivates faculty, achieves educational excellence through teamwork.
H. Standards Bearer: Leads the school community in delivering the highest quality curriculum promoting academic successes for all students. I. Holistic Leader: Promotes all aspects of the child’s growth including leadership opportunities through activities and athletics.
J. Effective Communicator: Regularly corresponds with Stakeholders – Parents, teachers, alumni, parishioners, and community.
A. Practicing Catholic
B. 5 years teaching experience, at least 2 of those 5 years in Catholic education is preferred
C. Earned Master’s degree and/or California Credential (teaching and/or administrative)
Preference given to candidates with Catechist certification
