Description
8th Grade Teacher
- Be responsible for teaching Reading, Grammar, and Spelling using the Common Core State Standards to a 8th grade class and Religion to the homeroom.
- Possess a solid understanding of the content areas
- Possess a solid understanding of Middle School students and be able to relate well to them
- Be a dynamic individual looking to become a member of the La Purisima Concepcion School
- Be someone who cares about the whole child and will demonstrate a willingness to be part of a team, working on behalf of students
- Be a practicing Catholic in good standing with the Roman Catholic Church
- Have an understanding of current teaching methodologies, including Student Engagement activities and Differentiated Instruction
- Have the ability to work collaboratively
- Have the ability to communicate effectively in the spoken and written word and use technology to communicate and to create and present effective lessons
- Have the ability to be flexible and adjust to the daily demands of the job
- Have the knowledge and skills to effectively manage a classroom of Middle School students
- Attend staff meetings, school events and professional development
Requirements
- Bachelors in related field
- Credential preferred
- Experience preferred, but not required
- Must be able to use a computer with common Microsoft programs and Google Apps

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
