Description
Our Lady of the Assumption School is seeking an experienced Middle School Mathematics Teacher. Our Lady of the Assumption uses the Pearson Common Core Curriculum as well as significant online resources and applications. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of mathematics and the ability to effectively communicate mathematical concepts to students in a way that is engaging and accessible. They should also be committed to providing a safe and inclusive learning environment that aligns with the Catholic faith.
Middle School teachers plan and collaborate regularly. Each day, class begins with a morning meeting, as all instructors have Responsive Classroom training. OLA is a growth-oriented school with a dynamic, fun, and highly professional staff. Extensive professional development is a mainstay at OLA. The faculty at OLA is very collaborative and team focused. Instructors who are innovative, creative and focused on supporting students in meeting their educational goals will fit in well in this Catholic school setting.
Requirements
Prepare daily lesson plans aligned with standards and focused on supporting students in meeting their educational goals with measurable objectives, procedures, and assessments.
Essential Duties
Collaborate with the Middle School Team.
Integrate the use of technology into the curriculum using resources made available by the school.
Maintain a safe, joyful, and engaging classroom community through the Responsive Classroom approach.
Establish and maintain cooperative relationships with students, parents, staff, and community members.
Participate in and contribute to the life of OLA outside the classroom.
Attend faculty and department meetings and perform supervision and additional duties as needed.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- Teaching Credential or enrollment in a credential program
- Preferred Qualifications:
- Practicing Catholic
- Master’s Degree or enrollment in a Master’s program

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
