St. Emydius Catholic School is seeking a a Full-time, Faith-filled 6th Grade Homeroom Teacher with a focus in Middle School Science and Math Teacher for the 2021-2022 School Year. We are seeking an innovative teacher who can help implement and bring the Next Generation Science Standards and Common Core Mathematics standards to life for our students. The ideal candidate creates and implements lesson plans that engage a diverse group of learners, maintains classroom decorum, assesses student progress, and analyzes data in order to strategically aid students in reaching their learning goals. A focus on project-based learning and hands-on activities is desired. The teacher will be able to communicate and collaborate well with administration, faculty and staff, and parents and students. Candidate will support the teachings of the Catholic Church, and demonstrate a desire to continually improve upon professional practices while developing a positive school culture.

The ideal candidate will:
-have a solid grasp of middle school (grades 6-8) common core-subject content standards and NGSS science standards
-seek innovative and engaging methods to implement the CCSS Math and NGSS standards
-use available technology to enhance the students’ learning experiences through Blended Learning
-show passion for and experience with curriculum development and assessment
-be well-organized, highly energetic, and deeply caring
-work collaboratively with colleagues
-possess a Bachelors degree from an accredited university
-possess a teaching credential from an accredited university (or be currently enrolled in an credential program)
-be active in the Catholic Church and in good standing with the church’s moral teaching
-continually seek growth opportunities that allow innovation to improve student learning
-participate in and contribute to the life of St. Emydius Catholic School
