Notre Dame Academy in West Los Angeles is a private, all-girls, Catholic high school founded by the Sisters of Notre Dame in 1949. We are seeking a collaborative, innovative, and passionate instructional aide for the 2025-2026 school year. The ideal candidate should have a passion for education, be a recent graduate or enrolled in a credential program, and a willingness to learn from the lead teachers.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee Self Directed Learning (SDL) periods. This period allows students to study, work on projects, catch up, unwind, and read with the supervision of the instructional aide.
- Help support a positive and engaging classroom environment that promotes the development of social-emotional skills, Habits of Mind, and critical thinking.
- Supervise students in and out of the classroom and on field trips.
- Work with a diverse population of students to meet their individual needs.
- There is an opportunity for the instructional aide to offer an elective course to students based on their interests (an art, activity, skill).
- Support non-academic areas with clerical and programming needs

Requirements
Requirements:
- Experience working with children in some capacity (camp counselor, tutoring etc.)
- Strong communication, collaboration, and organizational skills
- Ability to be a learner and anticipate needs
- Technology skills and ability to integrate technology into the instructional experiences
- Understanding of and comfort in a Catholic education setting
Preferred:
Enrolled in teaching credential program or recent graduate

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
