Description
Middle School English / History – Holy Redeemer – St. James School [HRSJ] seeks an English/History teacher its middle school program. The ideal candidate should have expertise in a wide range of language arts/humanities curricula including experience in instructing writing, grammar, and history. In addition, an ideal instructor at HRSJ combines high expectations with a high level of support. Faculty members are also part of a professional learning community and must have a growth mindset. The teacher is expected to develop, plan and present lessons to students utilizing course material and other appropriate learning material. The teacher is expected to supervise, monitor, assign and evaluate students. In addition, the teacher will establish and maintain the standards of student behavior needed to achieve an excellent learning atmosphere in the classroom, maintain appropriate and timely records of student progress, communicate with parents, and establish and maintain an effective environment for students, to foster learning. Teachers are also expected to be significantly involved in the co-curricular activities of the school.

MA and Teaching Credential or enrolled in Teaching Credential Program
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
