St. Emydius Catholic School is seeking a a Full-time, Faith-filled 7th Grade Homeroom Teacher with a focus in Middle School English/Language Arts for the 2022-2023 School Year. We are seeking an innovative teacher who plans and implements student-centered and engaging lesson plans aligned with the Common Core Standards. The ideal candidate maintains classroom decorum, assesses student progress, analyzes data in order to strategically aid students in reaching their learning goals, and promotes a passion for reading and writing. The teacher will be able to communicate and collaborate well with administration, faculty and staff, and parents and students. Candidate will support the teachings of the Catholic Church, and demonstrate a desire to continually improve upon professional practices while developing a positive school culture.


The ideal candidate will:
-plan and design curriculum maps, units of study based on the Common Core Standards, and lessons that are engaging, deepen understanding and critical thinking
-help the students specifically increase their fluency, reading comprehension skills, and grammar and writing skills
-use available technology to enhance the students’ learning experiences through Blended Learning
-maintain a safe, organized classroom, which supports students’ independent learning, collaboration and choice
-monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment that supports the school wide behavior expectation in which students are engaged and respectful, providing them with cooperative learning opportunities.
-work collaboratively with the middle school team of teachers and partner with parents to communicate student successes and areas of growth
-be well-organized, highly energetic, and deeply caring
-possess a Bachelors degree from an accredited university
-possess a teaching credential from an accredited university (or be currently enrolled in an credential program)
-be active in the Catholic Church and in good standing with the church’s moral teaching
-participate in and contribute to the life of St. Emydius Catholic School
