Holy Redeemer – St. James School is a TK to 8th grade elementary school serving the parishioners of Holy Redeemer – St. James Church, in the City of La Crescenta, and the foothill communities.

Holy Redeemer – St. James School is seeking a dedicated and experienced middle school ELA and History teacher for the 2023-2024 school year. Incorporating History throughout the ELA curriculum is a highly desired skill set.

Holy Redeemer – St. Jame’s mission is to form leaders who serve Christ, exhibit academic excellence, develop strong character, and grow into productive citizens.

The ideal candidate shares the school’s mission and core beliefs; utilizes core instructional practices to implement a rigorous innovative curriculum; reflects on formative and summative data to guide instruction and student supports; effectively communicates with parents and collaborates with teachers and administrators; creatively integrates technology throughout the curriculum; and is dedicated to the pastoral values and evangelical mission of the Church.

The middle school (6th-8th grades) ELA / History teacher at Holy Redeemer – St. James is primarily responsible for facilitating learning in Literature, Language and Writing, and History, as well as performing homeroom and other responsibilities that are part of the teaching profession. The teacher is expected to work collaboratively with the entire middle school team as well as other teachers to ensure all students’ learning needs are met.

Bachelor’s Degree
Masters Degree and/or Teaching Credential (preferred)
Elementary/Middle School Experience and Master’s Degree (preferred)
Working knowledge of Google Workspace for Education, Canva, AI tools, and a love for and use of technology is highly preferred.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
