Description: Loyola High School is accepting applications from individuals who seek a mathematics teaching position. Candidates must demonstrate teaching experience in Calculus and AP Calc, and evidence of effective communication, collaboration, and successful teaching pedagogy.
Subject taught: 5 College Prep Mathematics courses.
Primary duties: The teacher will teach five periods of college-prep mathematics/calculus. This will involve lesson planning, lesson presentation, student assessment, and individualized student support as needed. The teacher will develop, plan, and present lessons to students in a classroom, utilizing course material and other appropriate learning material. Teachers are expected to collaborate with fellow teachers on curriculum and instruction. The teacher will supervise, monitor, assign, and evaluate students. In addition, the teacher will establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom, maintain appropriate and timely records of student progress, communicate with parents, and establish and maintain an effective environment for students.
Additional duties: Teachers are also expected to support the school’s spiritual program by assisting with retreats, school-wide liturgies, and/or community service programs. The teacher is expected to support the school’s co-curricular programs by moderating activities and/or clubs as well as prefect various dances and athletic events. The teacher will assist in exam proctoring, classroom substitutions, and lunchtime prefecting. The teacher will also be expected to support the school’s spiritual program by assisting with retreats, school liturgies, and/or community service programs. The teacher will be expected to support the school’s co-curricular programs by moderating activities or clubs.

Requirements
Minimum requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics or related subject and 2-5 years of experience successfully teaching college prep mathematics/calculus in a high school setting.
Desirable Credentials: Teaching Credential, Master of Education (M.Ed), or related coursework. The ideal candidate will possess experience in teaching and developing AP curriculum.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
