Description

Bosco Tech is a Catholic private, non-profit, college-preparatory school located in the San Gabriel Valley. We offer a unique science, technology, engineering and math (STEM) program to male high school students looking to qualify for 4-year college admissions in any of these fields. Our campus boasts over 75,000 square feet of classroom and lab space dedicated to teaching a wide variety of STEM courses. Our instructors bring their own university and career experiences into the classroom, using project-based learning to prepare our students for college and beyond.

Bosco Tech is seeking, for 2021-2022 school year, a qualified full-time high school level instructor in Materials Science, Engineering & Technology.

  • Chemical Analysis and Introduction to Plastics courses. In addition, candidate will be responsible for Mechanical Testing and Properties, and Non-Destructive Testing courses. All courses are lecture with lab component.
  • Candidate should demonstrate strong classroom management skills and the ability to prepare detailed, age-appropriate lesson plans which will include subject matter content, multiple instructional modalities, hands-on labs and varied assessments.
  • A minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, Materials Science, Materials Science Engineering or a related major is required; a valid California Teaching Credential is preferred, as is applicable work and career experience.

Requirements

Expected job skills include the ability to effectively use a computer with the current version of MS Windows software along with the MS Office suite of programs. Ability to operate and service various machines and equipment related to one or more of the listed majors of study is also expected. Effective organizational skills are a must, as is excellent oral and written communication skills, as well as being comfortable speaking in front of groups of people.
