Our Lady of Lourdes Parish in Northridge is seeking a mission-oriented person of faith to serve in the role of Liturgy Coordinator.
The Liturgy Coordinator serves as a member of a catholic parish leadership team, providing service and support to the parish staff and parishioners in all aspects of the liturgical and spiritual life of the community. Among the immediate responsibilities of the Liturgy Coordinator are the following:
– Working as a member of a dedicated team of parish staff and volunteers
– Organizing and managing liturgical celebrations;
– Overseeing liturgical ministries
– Providing assistance and oversight for the recruitment, training and scheduling of volunteers.
The Liturgy Coordinator is expected to have a strong faith commitment, to be dedicated to Gospel values to demonstrate an integration of faith and life, and to have an appreciation for mission-oriented worship.
The Liturgy Coordinator provides vision and coordination for the parish’s efforts in the spiritual and liturgical formation of the community, ordered to the equipping of parishioners for liturgical and other ministries in service of the community, and fostering an environment in which the community celebrates liturgy well together and is continuously being transformed by that worship.
Preference for B.A. (or better) in Liturgy, Theology, Pastoral Ministry, or related field; understanding of Catholic teachings, catechesis and documents on Liturgy, Certification(s) as appropriate, according to Archdiocesan guidelines. Familiarity with liturgical documents necessary. Experience in the role of Liturgy director/coordinator in a Catholic parish desirable. A background in diverse styles of liturgical and worship music preferred. Passion for liturgy and ability to work as part of a team, essential.
