Language Arts Summer Review is a six-week summer course for students who need to strengthen skills learned in 9th and 10th grade English. The course provides students opportunities to practice and master reading, writing, speaking, critical thinking, and listening fluency through a survey of World Literature of various literary genres. Students practice writing short and long products, including multi-paragraph essays, to build fluency in grammar, usage, and syntax. Students have multiple opportunities to practice public speaking/oral presentation skills. Summer school courses are expected to be on campus, or a combination of on-campus and distance learning from home.
The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor of Arts degree in English, at least three years’ experience teaching high school English, experience working in a Catholic school, and experience using Zoom, Schoology, and Google Classroom to deliver instruction, as well as experience using a variety of other digital tools such as PowerSchool, FlipGrid, EdPuzzle, Quizizz, and Kahoot! Summer school begins on June 14, 2021 and concludes on July 22, 2021.
