*Strong knowledge of Math for Junior High (we use Go Math for 6th grade, Holt for Pre-Algebra and Algebra for grades 7 and 8)
*Strong knowledge of Science for grades 6-8 (we use StemScopes and have curriculum that is NGSS-aligned)
*Strong organizational and class management skills
*Comfortable working and supportive of Catholic-based education
*Creates a safe learning environment for all students and understands the importance of supervision of students both in and out of the classroom
*Adheres to deadlines
*Preference is given to practicing Roman Catholics, the junior high currently attends Mass 5 days a week in the mornings
1. Hold a Bachelor Degree from an accredited university; from an accredited college in related fields/Education
2. Working towards a Master’s Degree or CA Clear Teaching Credential in related fields from an accredited university or be currently enrolled in a Master’s and/or credential program
3. Successfully implement technology in the curriculum (utilize iPads, MacBooks, Apple TV, and Chromebooks, along with programs like ST Math, Nearpod, and Freckle); support the mission of St. Anthony of Padua School.
4. Work in collaboration with the junior high team, and be a homeroom teacher for 7th grade students
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
