Mathematics Instructor – Interim position for the 2023-2024 school year – (Full-time, benefit eligible)
Description – Loyola High School is accepting applications from individuals who seek a teaching position. Candidates must demonstrate evidence of effective communication, collaboration, and successful teaching pedagogy.
Subject Taught – Statistics, Economics, and Personal Finance. Must also be able to teach additional math and/or social science subjects if the need arises.
Primary Duties: Teach college prep economics, college prep statistics, and a personal finance enrichment class in a competitive college-preparatory environment.
This will involve lesson planning, lesson presentation, student assessment, and individualized student support as needed. Faculty members are also part of a professional learning community for one period. The successful teacher will develop, plans, and present lessons to students in a classroom, utilizing course material and other appropriate learning material. The teacher will supervise, monitor, assign, and evaluate students. In addition, the teacher will establish and maintain standards of student behavior needed to achieve a functional learning atmosphere in the classroom, maintain appropriate and timely records of student progress, communicate with parents, and establish and maintain an effective environment for students, in order to foster learning.
Additional Duties: Teachers are also expected to support the school’s spiritual program by assisting with retreats, school-wide liturgies, and/or community service programs. The teacher is expected to support the school’s co-curricular programs by moderating activities and/or clubs as well as prefect at various dances and athletic events. The teacher will assist in exam proctoring, classroom substitutions, and lunchtime prefecting. The teacher will also be expected to support the school’s spiritual program by assisting with retreats, school liturgies, and/or community service programs. This teacher will be expected to support the school’s co-curricular programs by moderating activities or clubs.

Salary scale – $65k – $75k DOE

Requirements
Minimum Requirements – Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Economics, Business or a related field.
Highly Desired Qualification/s – Teacher preparation and/or a teacher credential, as well as experience teaching in a high school setting is highly desired.
Other Desirable Qualifications – Advanced degree in Mathematics, Economics, Business, or a related field.
Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
