Job Summary:
• The Boys’ and Girls’ Varsity Track & Field Head Coach will work under the supervision of the Athletic Director in accordance with Bishop Alemany High School’s mission. The Varsity Track & Field Head Coach must realize and appreciate the need for the track & field program to work with other sports as a complement to the entire athletic department and overall school.
Primary Purpose:
• Provide instruction and coach students to develop skills and the ability to excel in Track & Field. Contribute to the educational program as a whole and to the growth of students involved in athletics so that they are successfully competitive.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
• Use a variety of instructional techniques and resources to meet the needs and improve the abilities of student athletes in Track & Field.
• Manage and supervise athletic activities, contests, and practice sessions to promote individual growth in athletic skills, teamwork, discipline, respect, and good sportsmanship.
• Work with other members of the school staff to plan and put in place instructional goals and objectives to ensure the overall educational development of student athletes.
• Ensures that all Track & Field coaches work together toward a common goal within the Track & Field program and provide unity with a structured feeder system.
• Establish performance criteria for competition and evaluate student’s athletic abilities initially and on a regular basis.
• Take all necessary precautions to protect student athletes, equipment, materials and facilities.
• Monitor and enforce student eligibility criteria for extra-curricular participation.
• Work with Athletic Director to schedule competitions and coordinate arrangements.
• Develop and coordinate a continuing evaluation of coaching program, which includes making changes based on findings and the ongoing needs of the program.
Compensation:
• The position is part-time. No teaching position is currently available. Compensation for this position is a stipend of up to $12,500.

Requirements and Qualifications:
• All applicants must submit a current resume and completed employment application.
• All applicants will be required to complete a live scan through the Archdiocese of Los Angeles and obtain several certifications required to protect our students.
• A minimum of three years of experience as a high school varsity Track & Field coach is preferred.

Wage Range
The rate of pay offered to the selected candidate is based on internal pay policy and budget. New hires are commonly paid at the minimum of the wage range or within the lower part of the range. We consider a number of factors when making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skill sets, experience, training and other department needs.
