Position: French Language Teacher (Part Time/Full-Time)

Providence High School, Burbank, is a Catholic, private, co-educational, college-preparatory institution which endeavors to serve students of varied academic backgrounds. The school carries the mission of the Catholic Church within the Archdiocese of Los Angeles. Providence High School was founded in 1955 by the Sisters of Providence and is governed by Providence St. Joseph Health. Qualifications and Description:
It is preferred that applicants have teaching experience and a bachelor’s degree in a related subject area. A master’s degree and/or teaching credential is preferred.
Providence High School currently offers Spanish, French, and Latin as world languages. The school will begin phasing out Latin as a language offering and new students will have the option to enroll in either French or Spanish.
Experience and qualifications to teach all levels of French is needed. This assignment may include 4-5 total sections of French on levels ranging from French 1 to French 4 Honors. The status of the position moving to full-time will depend on course enrollment. Experience and qualifications to teach Spanish courses is also desired but not required.
The candidate should be a self-starter, very knowledgeable in his/her teaching field, flexible, and passionate about educating young adults. The candidate should be committed to developing and practicing cultural competence in their role as teacher and colleague. The candidate should also have experience with and be committed to developing best practices to support remote teaching and learning. Experience with project-based learning is preferred, but not required.
